I couldn't bring myself to put on all of the new hinges. I think I can use a q-tip and paint remover to fix the paint-encrusted hinges.
The cupboards are far from perfect, but I like the stark look in the kitchen. If only I could bring myself to get rid of the newspaper on the floor. Shouldn't the other family members take turns doing this?
I made a pumpkin pie tonight using a Cinderella pumpkin that we grew. For some reason I can't break from my vegan ways when baking pies. So even though we have fresh farm eggs available, I followed Oh She Glows pumpkin pie filling recipe. The three hour time to set was not realized until after dinner. Children were unhappy, but I thought pumpkin pie would be a great breakfast. Instead, we ate pumpkin pie at 8:45 pm. We should have waited until morning. The arrowroot really does need three hours to set with this recipe. Noah and Iris scraped their filling off the the crust, eating only crust and ice cream. I should be happy that my crust is the best Zoƫ "has ever had". *I did not use the rustic spelt crust from the same recipe.
One of these days I will take the iPad outside and photograph the real parts of Springville life.
