Kitchen Cupboards Again

Okay, I have a paint brush now. But I'm not a very good painter. I think we need new cabinets in the kitchen. I want light wood color. The cupboards were dark wood. After making spaghetti sauce, I wonder what I was thinking to paint the cupboards white. My way to clean is to repaint. How sustainable is that? And how much paint can a wall hold?
